Reviews.io + Layers

Reviews.io keeps rating data in its own API rather than Shopify metafields. Layers pulls per-SKU aggregates directly and exposes them as product and variant attributes, so ratings and review counts work in sort orders, filters, and merchandising rules.

Frequently asked questions

How do I enable the Reviews.io integration?

Open the Integrations section in the Layers dashboard, find Reviews.io, add your Store ID and API key, and toggle it on. No theme edits are required.

Do I need to set up Shopify metafields first?

No. Reviews.io stores ratings per SKU in its own API, so Layers reads them directly. There is nothing to add to your Shopify catalog.

How current are the ratings in Layers?

Layers registers a webhook with Reviews.io, so new and updated reviews refresh the affected SKUs automatically. You can also queue a full resync from the integration panel.

Can I rank individual variants by rating?

Yes. Ratings and review counts sync at both the product and variant level, so variant breakouts can be sorted and filtered on their own scores.
