Default Variant Options in Request Transforms

The Set default selected options action with Metal set to Gold and Stone set to Sapphire, an Add option link, and Override shopper-provided defaults switched on, next to a product tile and a breakout tile both showing the Gold and Sapphire variant

Request transforms have a new Set default selected options action. Add up to 20 option and value pairs, like Metal: Gold, and products in matching search and browse results show a Gold variant by default when they have one.

Defaults sent by the shopper win unless you turn on Override shopper-provided defaults, which replaces their whole list. The action only picks which variant is shown, so products aren't filtered and variant breakout tiles keep their grouping.
