Metafield Reference Blocks
Product-anchored blocks can now read a reference metafield straight from Shopify and serve whatever products your merchandising team already authored there — "wear it with," "refills for this," "pairs well with," or any other relationship you maintain as a product or variant reference metafield. Results keep the exact order your team authored, and the same eligibility rules as manual blocks apply, so there's no separate curation to keep in sync.
Point a block at a metafield namespace and key in the editor's new Metafield source picker, which lists your store's reference metafield definitions so you always select one that resolves. Variant-scoped metafields read from the shopper's selected variant, with automatic fallback to the product-level value when the variant has none — and the block preview panel now lets you pick an anchor variant to test that directly.
