Previously, Layers improved search results over time by learning from what users searched for. Now, we’re taking it a step further—every search is expanded instantly in real time to deliver better, more relevant results right away.

What does this mean?

• Smarter Results – If a shopper searches “dress shirt” on a women’s apparel site, they’ll also see button-up shirts, blouses, and workwear options.
• Context-Aware – If someone has been browsing kids’ items and searches for “shoes,” they’ll see kids’ shoes first.
• Seasonal and Thematic Matches – Searching “summer” on a shoe site will show sandals, wedges, and other warm-weather styles.

Why is this important?

Real-time query expansion helps customers find exactly what they’re looking for, faster. It also gives merchandisers better tools to curate collections and surface the right products at the right time.
