Smarter Product Sequences

More control over how product sequences behave — with conditions, draft support, and AI-powered ordering.

Product sequences now support conditions, draft products, and automatic AI ordering — giving you finer control over when and how grouped products appear on your storefront.

  • Sequence conditions — Define rules that every product in a sequence must satisfy for the sequence to be active. If any product fails a condition (such as going out of stock), the entire sequence moves to Draft and is hidden from results until the condition is met again. Set conditions per sequence or apply them globally to every sequence in your store under Settings > Sequences.
  • Draft product support — Sequences can now include draft products. Draft items appear with a badge in the sequence editor so you can plan upcoming looks before they go live. A sequence needs at least two active products to appear on your storefront — if products are removed or moved to draft, the sequence automatically switches to Draft status.
  • AI sequence ordering — When sequences are created automatically from metafields, AI can rearrange the products into a logical merchandising order — tops before bottoms, outerwear before innerwear, accessories last. Enable it under Settings > Sequences and optionally add custom rules to guide how the AI orders products (e.g., "always place dresses before accessories").

Conditions are re-evaluated automatically whenever a product is updated during catalog sync, so sequences stay current without manual intervention.
