Key takeaways

01
Moast is our pick for most Shopify stores: flat pricing, a free plan with unlimited views, and the only Built for Shopify badge of the five.
02
Tolstoy, Videowise, Whatmore and Firework each bill on a different meter, so the same traffic costs very different amounts.
03
Video helps only when shoppers see it. Placement and finding the product matter as much as the app.

Shoppable video turns a Reel, a TikTok or a customer clip into something a shopper can watch and buy from without leaving the page.

The category has a dozen apps, and they look alike until the first invoice arrives.

Disclosure: Moast makes one of the apps below. They recently published a roundup of search and merchandising tools that includes us, and we agreed to cover their category in return. That is why Moast is listed first.

It is also our pick for most stores, because it scored best on the criteria below for speed, cost and rating. We judged all five the same way, and we say plainly where Moast loses.

We build search and merchandising for Shopify Plus, not video. That makes us a neutral reader of this category, not an uninterested one.

Does shoppable video actually lift sales?

Yes, in the one randomized test we could find, and with a catch.

A field experiment published in Management Science added a product video to 66 apparel pages at one retailer. Sales of those items rose 14.5%.

The catch is the setup. It was one retailer, plain video rather than an interactive widget, and the year was 2015. Treat it as proof the effect exists, not as a number to expect.

The counterweight is Baymard's usability testing. Only 41% of test users watched product videos, and many sites bury the video where shoppers never look.

So the app matters less than where the video sits. Put it in or beside the image gallery, with a visible play icon.

Every lift figure you will see on a vendor site, such as "3.5x conversion" or "+35%", is self-published with no method attached. We left all of them out.

How did we judge these five?

We picked apps with a Shopify App Store listing, at least 40 reviews, public pricing and a distinct buyer profile. Product-tagged add-to-cart video had to be the core product.

We then compared them on five criteria a Shopify ecommerce team cares about:

  1. Speed and install. Does it install as a theme block, and does Shopify vouch for its performance? Vendor kilobyte claims are noted, not scored.
  2. Path from video to cart. Can a shopper pick a variant and add to cart inside the player?
  3. Content workflow. Import and sync from Instagram and TikTok, product tagging effort, and per-product or per-market placement.
  4. Measurement. Views, clicks, add-to-carts and revenue per video, and whether you can test.
  5. Cost and trust. The billing unit, what the free plan really includes, and what recent reviews say about billing.

All prices below come from each app's Shopify App Store listing on October 5, 2026, unless noted. Plans change often, so confirm before you buy.

What are the best shoppable video apps for Shopify?

1. Moast: our pick for most Shopify stores

Moast turns Reels, TikToks and customer clips into carousels, stories, grids and pop-ups with product tagging and analytics.

It is the youngest app here, launched in May 2024, and it has the strongest case on the criteria that matter most to a store owner.

  • Best for: stores that want a flat bill as traffic grows. Moast says it never charges by views.
  • Pricing: free forever with unlimited views and unlimited widgets. Pro is $15 a month, per its App Store listing, with a 14-day trial.
  • Speed: the only app of the five with the Built for Shopify badge, which caps the Lighthouse hit at ten points.
  • Rating: 5.0 from 340 reviews, and 332 of them are five-star. Reviewers praise the support and help with moving over from other apps.

Three more reasons it leads for most stores:

  • Shop app on the free plan. Your videos can appear in Shopify's Shop app without paying.
  • Placement where it counts. Carousels go on your homepage, product pages and collection pages, and the same videos can run in emails, per its App Store listing.
  • Pro adds more. Customer video collection, shoppable video in email, branding removal and advanced analytics, per its pricing page.

It also works with Judge.me and Loox reviews and Klaviyo, and its customer page lists brands such as DAVIDsTEA, LNDR and Fellow.

  • Watch out for: no live shopping, no A/B testing listed, and a 10-video cap per widget on free. Its speed claims are self-reported.

If you need live shopping or an enterprise sales relationship, look at Videowise or Firework. For everyone else, start here.

2. Tolstoy

Tolstoy pairs shoppable video with an AI layer, including AI-generated video, a sales agent and virtual try-on. You can reuse the same videos in email and SMS.

  • Best for: brands that will use the AI features, mostly fashion and beauty.
  • Pricing: Starter is $12 a month for 5,000 viewers, Plus is $44, Pro is $195. Extra viewers start at $10 per 1,000, per its pricing page.
  • Where it leads: the broadest feature set of the five, from AI-generated video to email and SMS reuse.
  • Watch out for: the billing. Ten of its 278 reviews are one-star, and several cite unclear overage charges. Publishing also needs a paid plan or trial.

3. Videowise

Videowise is the longest-running platform here, launched in 2020. It adds live shopping, AI clips and publishing to the Shop app and TikTok Shop.

  • Best for: larger stores that want live shopping and A/B-tested widgets.
  • Pricing: two stories. The App Store lists Pro at $9 a month for 5,000 widget impressions. The vendor's own page starts Shoppable Video at $239 a month.
  • Where it leads: the widest distribution, with Shop app and TikTok Shop publishing on the free plan.
  • Watch out for: billing is per impression, counting every page load that shows the widget. Ask which price ladder applies to you before installing.

4. Whatmore

Whatmore syncs Instagram and TikTok daily and uses AI to match videos to products. It has the most Shopify reviews of the five, at 378.

  • Best for: brands that post Reels every week and want the tagging automated.
  • Pricing: free for 300 video clicks a month. Starter is $29, Growth is $79 and Scale is $149, per its pricing page.
  • Where it leads: daily auto-sync and AI product matching, the most hands-off content workflow of the five.
  • Watch out for: billing is per click, and AI matches are capped below Scale. Its site says 500 free clicks, the App Store says 300.

5. Firework

Firework is the enterprise option. It covers shoppable video, livestreams, in-video quizzes and polls, and Klaviyo email video.

  • Best for: larger brands that want live selling and in-email video, and are comfortable with a sales relationship.
  • Pricing: free for 1,000 views a month. Starter is $39, and Growth is $259 a month, per its plans page. Higher tiers need a sales call.
  • Where it leads: the deepest interactive and omnichannel toolkit.
  • Watch out for: a thin Shopify review base, at 47 reviews. The Shop app carousel shows at most six videos and no livestreams.

How do you pick the right one?

Match the app to the problem you have, not the feature list.

  • Most stores, and anyone who wants a flat bill and a fast install: Moast.
  • You want AI tools and email reuse: Tolstoy, and read the overage terms first.
  • You want live shopping and wide distribution: Videowise or Firework.
  • You post new Reels every week: Whatmore, for the daily sync.

Whichever you choose, run a four-week test on one high-traffic product page. Compare add-to-cart rate with and without the widget, because attributed revenue alone does not prove lift.

Where do search and merchandising fit in?

Video does its work on the homepage and the product page. A shopper reaches that page through search or a collection, and a shopper who never finds the product never sees the video.

That is the half of the visit we work on. Our AI Search and Merchandising decide which products rise to the top of a results page or collection.

On the collection tile itself, we let you pin a product and override its featured image with campaign-specific photography. That override swaps images, not video.

The two stack without conflict. Search and merchandising get the right shopper to the right page, and video helps them decide once they land.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best shoppable video app for Shopify?

For most stores, Moast. It has flat pricing, a free plan with unlimited views and the only Built for Shopify badge of the five apps we compared.

The one gap is live shopping, which Moast does not offer. Most stores do not need it to start.

How much do shoppable video apps cost?

Entry plans run from free to roughly $40 a month on App Store listings, and brand-level plans run into the hundreds.

Moast is free with unlimited views, and its Pro plan is a flat $15 a month with no usage charges. Check the billing unit as well as the price.

Do shoppable video apps slow down a Shopify store?

They can. Built for Shopify caps the Lighthouse hit at ten points, and Moast is the only app of the five that holds the badge.

Moast also publishes its own speed figures, though those are self-reported.

Is shoppable video worth it for a small store?

Often, if the free plan covers your volume. The evidence for a sales lift is real but modest, and shoppers skip videos they cannot find.

Moast's free plan is a low-risk way to test one product page before rolling it out.
